After raising awareness of the fight against plastic waste on World Cleanup Day, September 17, 2022, JULES organized a visit to the NAMé recycling plant in the Ahala district of Yaoundé.
On the morning of October 29, 2022, JULES gathered its customers in the PlaYce Yaoundé parking lot, along with volunteer plastic waste collectors who had registered the day before World Cleanup Day 2022.
1 hour after departure, the bus arrives at the NAMé recycling plant. It's 10 a.m. when visitors to the plant enter the site. And it's at this precise moment that they witness, without preamble, an important stage in the plastic waste treatment process. A truck is unloading a load of plastic waste, collected beforehand from various parts of the city. It's only once the truck has left that visitors and NAMé recycling staff introduce themselves and solemnly greet each other.
Introductions made, the 2 guides got straight down to business. Having just witnessed the first stage of the on-site recycling process, i.e. the reception of the raw material, visitors were taken on a tour of the site, following the path of the plastic waste. JULES and his guests see how the waste is washed, sorted and then conveyed to machines that compress it into bales. The bundle is then weighed and packed into a large bag, which is then stored in a warehouse, awaiting transport to the shredder. Since it takes over 24 hours to process the plastic waste, the other stages are shown on video. At the end of the video, NAMé recycling guides answer visitors' questions. The visit to the plant then comes to an end.
JULES, a CFAO Consumer Retail franchise, is delighted to see all its guests off at PlaYce Yaoundé. This visit to the NAMé recycling factory is a sharing of knowledge and experience that educates about the eco-responsible use of plastic. At the same time, this action imprints in memory the values of the men's fashion brand, which works to protect the environment.
On November 26, 2022, JULES repeated the experience with the second wave of registrants, this time to visit the Red Place factory, also located in the city of Yaoundé.
Since opening its doors on July 6, 2022 at PlaYce Yaoundé, the JULES brand has been rallying customers and partners around the same vision: to move towards an eco-responsible world. And it is in line with this positioning that JULES previously took part in the activities of World Cleanup Day 2022 in the city of Yaoundé.
