PlaYce Yaoundé organizes a talk to raise awareness of the fight against breast cancer
Breast cancer is the most common cancer worldwide, with 2.3 million cases reported in 2020 and 685,000 deaths in the same year. Statistics revealed by the World Health Organization show that the disease is gaining ground year after year. In Cameroon in particular, the progression is tending to double. This sad picture of the situation calls for more and more action to turn the tide.
This is how the PlaYce Yaoundé shopping center, which is also a place to live, is raising its voice within its community to raise awareness of the fight against the disease, during the month of pink October.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, PlaYce Yaoundé organized a talk with two doctors, a breast cancer patient and a caretaker as panellists.

It was an important sharing of information on risk factors for contracting the disease, clinical signs and preventive measures. The different experiences of the patients, their relatives and the caretakers were very edifying about their living conditions, and represented as many reasons to avoid contracting the disease. This 1h30min awareness-raising talk was held thanks to the support and contribution of the Warda Medical Center, La Pizzeria el Lacrino, the Raph Warriors association, and the Association des Garde-Malades.
